My name is Mrs. Bualuay and I am a fourth grade teacher. I began teaching here at Waiau in 1998 after graduating from The University of Hawaii at Manoa with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. I later received my Master's degree in Elementary Education - Curriculum and Instruction.

Throughout my teaching career, I have taught second, third and fourth grade as well as taken on the positions of Math Curriculum Coordinator and ELL Coordinator. Having been a third and fourth grade teacher for more than 20 years, I truly believe that children at this age are full of inquiry, excitement, and willing to take risks and I hope to foster those qualities within your child throughout this year. I am passionate about teaching, strongly believe in nurturing the whole child and I feel very fortunate to have been a part of Waiau Elementary's 'ohana for the past 22 years.

On a personal level, I live in Waimanalo, on the other side of the Ko'olau mountain range. Growing up on the windward side, I have been blessed with the beautiful breezes of the ocean, white sandy beaches, and lush green mountainsides. When I'm not in school, I enjoy going to the beach, visiting my daughter in Utah, and seeing all of the beauties of our world (such as blankets of snow on the ground, autumn colored leaves covering the mountainsides, and the cleansing turquoise waters of our oceans).
