Mrs. Bualuay's 6th Grade Class - SY '23 - '24

Course Description

Aloha mai kakou e 6th Grade Scholars (& ko'u 'ohana),

I’m so excited to be working with you again and I’m looking forward to having a fabulous and amazing school year. I'm also a little nervous about my recent move up to 6th grade, but knowing that we'll be in this together makes it all worth while. Pupukahi i holomua...Let's unite to move forward!

This year will be a year in which you will be focusing on building your independence and striving for being the best version of yourself. You will be expected to take the lead in your personal development, be active in your own learning and nurture your relationships with your peers, all while navigating through changes within yourself and the world around you. Interwoven with your personal growth will be the revival of your HA (Breath). We will focus on strengthening your sense of Belonging, Responsibility, Excellence, Total Well-being, Hawai'i and Aloha through Na Hopena A'o framework.

In addition to that, you will continue to develop and eventually master fundamental skills in all curriculum areas. You will nurture the savvier reader, writer, mathematician, problem solver and self-directed learner. We will dive deeper into concepts and develop more complex skills as a class as you engage in thoughtful and reflective independent practices as an individual. I am confident that this year will bring you great growth and a strong sense of accomplishment and I look forward to seeing how things unfold throughout the year.

Once again, welcome to the 6th grade and "Loa‘a ka lanakila no ka hana pa‘akikï"...Victory is achieved through hard work.

Mahalo no,
Mrs. Bualuay
