Aloha and thank you for visiting Mr. Walczyk's page.

Everybody knows that fourth grade is the greatest of all grade levels where the most important work, thinking and problem solving are done! That being said, I'm honored to be able to use this page to help students plan and organize their work, as well as to inform parents of learning and volunteering opportunities.

A Little About Me

I grew up just south of Buffalo, NY but have been happily soaking up the sun and aloha in Hawaii since 2006. I'm very close with my family who are spread out in New York and Florida. I love athletics, reading, the arts, nature and helping others. In my non-teaching time, you can usually find me surfing or up in the mountains snapping photos with my dog. I've also recently began volunteering to help do ecological restoration work.

Teaching at Waiau

Since first starting at Waiau, I have taught a number of grade levels, subjects and extracurricular activities. This year I will be able to off students opportunities in Aquaponics, robotics and assisting with audio needs at special events.

Teaching Philosophy

I have high expectations for all of my students and focus on teaching the importance personal responsibility, clear communication, kindness and gratitude. I run my class as a collective group of problem solvers who are in search of sustainable and positive solutions in the best interest of everyone. My hope is to guide students to become happy and healthy, well-informed and capable adults, who are able to cooperatively thrive and enjoy solving all of the challenges life throws at them.

We can always use volunteers and I love to talk about teaching and education so please feel free to stop by and say hello.
